Chapter 00 — Feedstock · Municipal
Trial-validatedMunicipal Solid Waste. Mixed, unsorted, moisture-heavy — and processed exactly as delivered.
The world generates 2+ billion tonnes of municipal solid waste a year and diverts less than a third of it. Ardana takes it mixed and unsorted — magnetic metal removal is the only pre-processing — and deconstructs it into hydrogen and inert vitrified slag. Moisture is treated as a thermodynamic asset, not a liability, so there is no energy-hungry pre-drying step.

- Pre-processing
- Magnetic metal removal only
- Availability
- 2B+ tonnes / year globally
Why Plasma Gasification Fits
- No segregation and no pre-drying — the plant accepts the waste stream as it arrives.
- Plasma deconstruction destroys dioxin/furan precursors instead of creating them.
- The only solid output is inert vitrified slag, usable in construction.
- Captive municipal offtake creates a stable, contracted feedstock supply.
- Diverts methane-emitting waste from landfill — a compounding carbon benefit.
